When two sisters wanted to re-lease the space where their father’s business had been located for years, Warner Commercial stepped in and convinced them that the very dated interiors would be better offered for sale.

“The property had been on the market for more than one year,” explains Jonathan Warner. “We simply addressed the circumstances of the long occupied office condo, changed the signs and a tenant from three doors down became the contract purchaser.”

Warner Commercial was pleased to represent the City of Frederick in their process to purchase a new location for the City of Frederick Police Department.

The selected site at 100 East All Saints Street permits the City of Frederick Police to accomplish their two main objectives. First, to move them from their current cramped accommodations at the Frederick County Court House to a larger and more modern facility that gives them room for future growth. Secondly, the location integrates the police into the fabric of downtown Frederick. A large community room will be a piece to this strategy at the new location.

Warner Commercial was selected as part of a public bid process released by the City and was retained to represent the interests of the City in all negotiations and transactions regarding the acquisition.

The new location is at the corners of Commerce, All Saints and South Carroll streets in Historic Downtown Frederick, more familiarly known as the Gov. William Donald Schaefer Building at 100 E. All Saints Street. The building is 65,000 SF and formerly housed the City’s Department of Social Services.

The Police Department hopes to occupy the new space before the end of 2024 or 2025 following renovations.

The City settled on the property in December 2021 for $6 million.

“Our role was to evaluate, develop terms and represent the City of Frederick,” explains Jonathan Warner, who has been working in Historic Downtown Frederick for 35 years. “We were pleased to be the representative of the City of Frederick for this important and needed acquisition,” adds Jonathan.

Roberts Electric Motors Opens Second Location

Warner Commercial is pleased to announce that Roberts Electric Motors has expanded in Washington County and moved to a second location. You can find them in Frederick County at 4507 Metropolitan Court, Unit G.

Roberts Electric Motors’ founder, Allen Roberts started as a technician in the field of electric motor repair in 1960, moving into management in 1972. Little’s Furniture began in 1980 in Hancock, Maryland with owner Sam Little and his passion for antique furniture. By 1982 he started with a reproduction builder, Tom Seely Furniture, and has been open for business in downtown Frederick since 1994.

Warner Commercial is pleased to announce that Spartan Tactical & Police Supply has relocated their Frederick store to Industry Lane. The new location will combine retail options with training opportunities.

“With more space and a convenient location, we are able to support our police and military brothers and sisters, so we carry a full line of tactical and duty gear to help them do their job in a more safe and proficient manner,” said David Deanovich, instruction and co-owner of Spartan. “We have selected many products that we ourselves and our staff have worn and used in the field,” he added.

In addition to gear, Spartan offers a variety of instructional courses ranging from officer safety and handgun qualification licensing to baton tactics and women’s self defense. Spartan will also offer a reality based training that via a virtual system. Private parties for fun and entertainment are also being offered with zombie shoot and a competition shooting.

“We will also have a shoot house to offer active shooter scenarios and force on force which uses man marker rounds, called UTM. We are excited to bring these options directly into the Frederick community,” said Michelle Deanovich, Spartan owner. “It was fantastic to have the support and assistance of Jonathan Warner while we navigated the zoning process with Frederick County,” she added. “Our signs are installed to make us easy to find and we are ready to meet the needs of the regional market.”
