Redefining the Commercial Real Estate Experience
Warner Commercial is pleased to announce that this signature property is SOLD!
This building has been around for two centuries. And while we can't claim that we've been involved with it for that long, this isn't our first time selling 100 North Court Street. We can state that we've been part of the team spanning two decades though!
Back in the 1990s, when the Historic Cheatham House was inherited, the real challenge was that the new owner had a life estate. We were retained by him and advised him with a variety of recommendations prior to putting the property on the market. We created a robust marketing campaign, had plans drawn up for the entire property and developed a brochure once it was ready for sale.
Once on the market, it sold to a partnership of owner-occupant investors. We had previously worked with one of principals when he sold his property on the 300 block of West Patrick Street.
After the purchase at 100 North Court Street, we worked with his law firm, currently known as Ethridge, Quinn, Kemp, Rowan & Hartinger, to get the building up to modern standards. Shortly thereafter they moved the secondary location of their law firm into the first and partial second floor of Cheatham House.
During the past 21 years, we've assisted them with various approvals for improvements with the Historic Preservation Commission, Planning & Zoning, renovations, change in use, etc. We also handled the leasing of the available commercial spaces on the 2nd & 3rd floor and the adjacent "Scott Key Law Office".
The one-of-a-kind structure, built more than 200 years ago, has been a dynamic, living, working property since it was designed by the first professionally trained American architect in the US, Robert Mills, who designed the Washington Monument among other buildings in Washington, DC.
Today its historic charm, stunning location and parking are ready for what the newest owners have in mind.
"It's amazing to see what the property has become and we are looking forward to seeing where the new owners take this iconic, historic building," comments Jonathan Warner. The new owners are also long-term clients, spanning more than three decades, and are well-acquainted with the neighborhood where they own several other historic properties.
Ethridge, Quinn, Kemp, Rowan & Hartinger plan to stay in the building for the time being. And who wouldn't want to!

All told, we've worked with the buyers and the sellers of this property for more than two decades. That's the time and investment we make in our clients and their real estate goals.
Warner Commercial strives to develop lasting relationships, while always implementing a win-win approach for our owners and tenants. We look forward to assisting you with your commercial real estate goals. Give us a call today at 301-663-0202.
